At Foster Creek Park, Mayor Michael Heitzler joined over 40 volunteers in landscaping the park. They cleaned debris and beds and spead mulch throughout the playground. Stephanie McRae took part with her husband and four young children. “It’s wonderful to have the children involved” she saie. “I think it builds good habits to get the children involved in service”
Earlier in the week, as part of the day of service, more than 45 children, young adults, and parents came together to add a little joy to the lives of the seniors at the Pinewood House. The children provided a short concert, including several solo numbers, and a dance. Children’s group President Emily Young became emotional when describing how “the audience was spellbound by the beauty, spirit, and angelic voices of the children.”
